Western Australia’s so called “draconian” way to protect lives by drastically preventing the spread of covid with very severe snap lockdowns and harsh but necessary closed borders when only just one or few cases are detected in the community- has been working and allowing performing arts events to happen safely here since Aug 2020. 👏👏🙌🙌👏👏
Thanks to it, so many wonderful performances have happened so far. I feel extremely lucky, honoured and grateful for being here, for being part of this conscious and caring community and for having already had the opportunity to perform in 2021 at so many fantastic events including The Perth Festival and The Western Australian of The Year Ceremony, sharing the stage respectively with the amazing musicians of my Bossa Nova Baby Band and the Perth Symphony Orchestra as one of their invited soloists (as shown in this photo).
This following Saturday 14 August, another major event will happen in our city, the Inaugural Jazz by The Beach Festival – presenting over 18 different acts across 8 indoor venues with sea views around the Scarborough Beach area! It is wonderful to see so many members of the Perth Music Scene together and involved in this vibrant multi celebration of Perth’s culture, arts and way of life!
Juliana Areias & The Bossa Nova Baby Band comprising the extraordinary groovy cats Paul Millard (sax/flute), Joshua de Silva (7 string hybrid guitars), Bronton Ainsworth (drums) and Rafael Medeiro de Souza (percussion) will be part of The Jazz by the Beach Festival performing a delicious afternoon High Tea Concert on ☀️ Sat 14/8 – 2pm at Rendezvous Hotel (inside Straits Cafe with a glorious oceanic view and an irresistible chocolate themed high tea special menu).
On the same date 🌙 Sat 14 Aug in the evening – 7pm Juliana Areias & The Bossa Nova Baby Band will also perform at the Ellington Jazz Club (Perth’s temple of music) a special concert called Samba Jazz it Up!
